Co-hosted by the UCLG ASPAC Logistics Committee, Zhejiang Seaport Group, and Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group, the first session of the 2025 Maritime Silk Road Partnership Ports (MPP) Salon was successfully held in Yiwu from March 13 to 14, 2025.

Mr. Gao Jin, Vice Mayor of Yiwu City, Mr. Ye Zhihang, Vice General Manager of Zhejiang Seaport Group, Mr. Santiago Mila, Deputy General Manager of the Port Authority of Barcelona, and Mr. Djama Ibrahim Darar, CEO of the Port of Djibouti delivered opening remarks.

Ms. Zhang Weiwei, Deputy Director of Yiwu Foreign Affairs Office, delivered a speech titled “Jointly Building a New Logistics Hub for Asia-Pacific and Charting a New Development Blueprint for the Maritime Silk Road”. Ms. Zhang introduced the key initiatives of the UCLG ASPAC Logistics Committee, focusing on establishing logistics cooperation platforms, innovating the “logistics+” collaboration model, and strengthening international logistics networks.
Ms. Zhang also extended a broad invitation for more cities, ports, and enterprises to join the Committee and work together to advance the logistics connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.

The event brought together nearly 70 representatives from port and shipping institutions and enterprises across 25 countries and regions, including the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay (Spain), the Port Authority of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium), the Port Authority of Barcelona (Spain), Busan Port Authority (South Korea), and Canadian National Railway Company. Participants joined both in person and online.
