Solidarity with Nepal and Fruitful Discussion in Makati’s Executive Bureau Meeting

HOSTED by Makati City Government under the leadership of Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” S. Binay Junior, and supported by League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) with the presence of its National President Hon. Leonardo “Sandy” M. Javier Junior, and League of Cities of the Philippines, our recent Executive Bureau Meeting that took place in Makati City has been a fruitful discussion. Chaired by UCLG ASPAC’s President Governor Won Hee-ryong and Secretary General Dr. Bernadia, the Meeting has discussed scores of issues and all proposed agenda that has been unanimously agreed by all participants in the Executive Bureau Meeting.

The meeting started with a moment of silence for the affected people in Nepal. Outputs of the Executive Bureau meeting include the decision to have Mayor Binay as the Co-President of UCLG ASPAC representing the South-East Asia sub-region (for approval by the Council members), acceptance of Surigao and Catbalongan of the Philippines as the new members, establishment of sub-regional office for South and Southwest Asia, and the creation of ASPAC Committee on Culture chaired by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
