An urgent and enduring challenge for governments throughout the world is the design and implementation of frameworks to strengthen the resilience of communities and enable them to achieve sustainable futures that provide for the wellbeing of all. This is the subject of the “Building sustainable and resilient communities” forum, which is being hosted by Local Government New Zealand and Wellington City Council in collaboration with the United Cities and Local Government Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).
Conducted back-to-back with UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting 2020, the forum is intended to provide a unique opportunity for participants to both hear from those engaged in cutting edge projects designed to strengthen community resilience and participate in conversations about how new knowledge and insights can be applied in their own local and national contexts.
Date and Venue
The Forum will be held at the conference centre, James Cook Hotel, Wellington, on the 22 April 2020, with meetings of the executive bureau and statutory committees occurring on 23-24 April 2020 (the following days).
