UCLG ASPAC Secretary General was invited by Municipal Association of Bangladesh (MAB) and delivered her speech at the 2nd International Conference on Local Government, held in Dhaka, on 27 March 2015. She highlighted the crucial role of local governments and their associations in advocacy to have their voices be reflected in national policies and strategies, and especially to prepare for the new agenda on sustainable development.
Secretary General hoped that the Conference would be useful to develop the future roadmap of local governments particularly in Bangladesh and promote creative, effective and innovative local self-governments to serve the community better. She congratulated MAN for their ongoing and positive progress in strengthening the capacity of local governments in the whole country.
