As the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, the core node city of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the only national central city in Northwest China, Xi’an is making every effort to build the Belt and Road Demonstration Zone for International Commercial Legal Service (BRDZ-ICLS).
BRDZ-ICLS covers an area of about 89.89 km2. It includes the Second International Commercial Court of the Supreme People’s Court, the Sixth Circuit Court, “three centres” of the Ministry of Justice, Xi’an Intellectual Property Court, and established legal service institutions as its important functional support. With the core functions of international commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation, judicial personnel cooperation, and international law identification research, it will be built as a fully formed chain of international commercial legal service guarantee systems.
Based on the needs for foreign-related legal services in the fields of China Railway Express, international transportation, international trade, and foreign investment, the BRDZ-ICLS provides foreign-related enterprises with commercial legal services of investment prediction, risk assessment, due diligence, and dispute resolution. With these efforts, BRDZ-ICLS will play its leading role in innovation and become the first choice for services of international commercial dispute resolution along the BRI.
Xi’an, with a national centre of the China Railway Express, will rely on the construction of the BRDZ-ICLS to further integrate into the “dual circulation” development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement, and promote Xi’an to create a world-class business environment and an influential legal service highland along the “Belt and Road.”The article is submitted by Xi’an City Government, an active member and led city of Tourism Committee of UCLG ASPAC.
