SEENYING Lau – I am a final year student at The University of Adelaide, pursuing my second degree in Development Studies with a minor in Anthropology. I am privileged to be given an internship opportunity at UCLG ASPAC as part of my Development Studies Professional Practicum with ACICIS. My experience at UCLG ASPAC has not only given me an important understanding of development processes, but also allowed me to expand my interpersonal skills with many networking opportunities available within the organisation.
Nicole Ng – My experience at UCLG ASPAC has deepened my understanding of the dynamic of working in the not-for-profit sector. I became friends with my co-workers, whose generosity and patience I will never forget. Under their guidance, I have been able to hone my writing skills, challenge myself with the editing of a UCLG ASPAC video and contribute content for the 2014 Annual Report and the new website. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work here, and would like to thank everyone at the ASPAC Secretariat!
Candice Chesterfield – Hi, my name is Candice Chesterfield and I am from the University of the Sunshine Coast, located about 1 hour north of Brisbane, Queensland. Throughout my degree in Social Science, majoring in Development Studies and Geography my love for human-environment blossomed. The opportunity to intern at UCLG-ASPAC working on urban green space, urban safety and local economic development has only further cemented my passion for looking through the lens of spatiality and urban design to try to create and establish stronger human-environment relationships at a local government level.
