SELAMAT Pagi (Good morning). A very familiar Bahasa Indonesia and Malay that I have also heard in Malaysia. Yet, this nice greeting, along with the infectious laugh I have heard in the UCLG ASPAC family, reminded me that I was in Indonesia, which distinguishes itself with its charm.
I have really enjoyed working at UCLG ASPAC. The four-month stay in the organization has allowed me to work for a great cause. My main responsibilities included supporting the content development of the ASEAN Mayors Forum and conducting a research regarding the role of local governments in fair trade industry. My responsibilities helped me develop my writing, analytical and research skills, as well as gain familiarity with the ASEAN Community and fair trade development at the local government level.
