At the recently concluded Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Sri Lankan Local Government Authorities, Mayor Seyed Ali Zahir Moulana was elected as the new President of the Board of Directors. He will hold this position for the period of 2014-2016.
Mr. Moulana is the Mayor of Eravur Urban Council, in the Eastern Province. Before being elected as the Mayor of Eravur Urban Council, he was on mission at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the United States, in charge of Information and Economics. Mr. Maulana is an ex Parliament member and he held a number of important positions in the Government Ministries, including advisor to the Ministry of Policy Development and Implementation. The 58-year-old is married with two children.
