With deep sorrow, we inform you the sad demise of Dr. Rudolf Hauter, the former Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC. He passed away on Sunday, 30th June 2013 at 3.32 am MEST in Wuerzburg, Germany, after his long battle with cancer.
Dr. Rudolf Hauter held the position of the Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC from October 2010 – May 2013 and had the overall responsibility of managing the activities and programs of the Asia-Pacific Section of UCLG.

On taking up her post, Dr. Bernadia says, “In UCLG ASPAC, I hope to enable activities that can produce tangible results for its members, particularly in its advocacy efforts – after all, local governments are the most effective players in bringing changes to its citizens and communities. During my term, I plan to enhance our cooperation with regional associations, ASEAN, SAARC, UNESCAP and various other institutions. It is my long time dream to create a more prosperous and vibrant Asia-Pacific region.
