Sejong City hosts one campus of Korea University (another one located in Seoul). The Sejong Campus was established in 1980 with the founding spirit of “Education for National Salvation”. Although it initially shared some functions with the Seoul Campus, Sejong Campus has developed its independent educational and research capabilities and become a significant pillar of Korea University.
The Sejong Campus aspires to become a globally competitive, interdisciplinary institution under the vision of “Creative Education and Practical Research University.” To achieve this, it has set strategic goals, including fostering future-oriented and innovative talents, promoting industry-academia integration through practical research, building a convergent platform, sharing values with the local community, and establishing an innovative campus system.
The establishment of the College of Pharmacy has advanced talent development in the healthcare and medical fields. Also, the completion of the Osong Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology has further enhanced research capabilities in the bio-pharmaceutical sector. An MoU with Sejong City has strengthened community cooperation and yielded impressive results in local industries.
Improvements and expansions of campus facilities, such as the new main gate, the Culture and Sports Centre, and the Industry-Academia Cooperation Building, provide an optimal environment for education and research.
Korea University Sejong Campus continually prepares for significant progress by enhancing interdisciplinary education suited to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and focusing on nurturing creative, practical talents. The campus is solidifying its position as a global leader in education and research through international academic exchanges and cooperation.
The Sejong Campus is looking forward to its centennial and aspires to continue cultivating future leaders who will make a substantial impact on the world. For more information on the Korea University Sejong Campus, CLICK HERE.
