4th BRLC Cross-Border E-Commerce Workshop wraps up

The 4th BRLC Cross-Border E-Commerce Workshop came to a successful close on May 31.

The five-day event has brought 40 participants from 19 countries together to share ideas on cross-border e-commerce, gain useful expertise about smart business and make friends with each other despite their cultural differences. 

At the closing ceremony, Miao Chengchao, vice president of the BRLC, warmly congratulated the participants, and issued completion certificates to them. He expected that all participants could gain expertise and make contributions to step up intelligent upgrading in e-commerce companies with advanced artificial intelligence technology, in a bid to earn their own edge in smart business in an era of digital intelligence. 

It is reported that the BRLC Secretariat joins hands with Alibaba to make plans for this workshop and offer professional experts to lecture and answer the participants’ questions.

The workshop covers three themes, namely, “Business Intelligence in the Digital Age”, “Cross-border E-commerce” and “Empower Enterprises in E-commerce Intelligent Transition”. Through the class teaching, group discussion, site visiting, business communication, etc., the participants have learnt about the commercial reform brought by new quality productive forces and the track model of cross-border e-commerce.

During the five-day event, after studying four courses, participants obtained rich and solid knowledge and practical expertise on cross-border e-commerce. They also visited Alibaba Pavilion 9, Ant Park, and Dream Town to find out what has been made reality with the theoretical knowledge.

Mr. Hossein Esfandiar from the National Progress and Development Center of Iran, said that the event enabled him to broaden his horizon, deeply understand the pattern and opportunity of global e-commerce market, and explore the application of artificial intelligence technology in e-commerce. He is looking forward to applying the expertise he has learnt to future e-commerce business in his own country. 

Ms. Thatchaphorn Fongsrisin, a student from Thailand majoring in e-commerce at Zhejiang Gongshang University, said, “This is not only a valuable learning opportunity, but also a profound cultural exchange.” The event enriched her professional knowledge both on theory and practice. She made a lot of new friends, and aspired to become a professional industrial talent in the future.

Since 2018, the BRLC has successfully hosted the international e-commerce training workshop for three times, in a bid to deepen international cooperation. The BRLC, as an important platform for international cooperation, is striving for mutual benefits and win-win achievements among its member cities and organizations through more collaboration and exchange.

This event was co-hosted by the BRLC and the UCLG ASPAC Secretariat, and organized by Alibaba Taobao Education. It has attracted not only commercial officials and experts of the BRLC and the UCLG ASPAC member cities, but also representatives of foreign commercial organizations in Shanghai, foreign entrepreneurs in Hangzhou, and other e-commerce enterprises.
