November 13-15, 2024 | The 5th Zhejiang International Friendship Cities Exchange Exhibition took place from November 13 to 15 at the Yiwu International Expo Centre, running parallel to the 2024 China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair. As a comprehensive platform for international sister city cooperation, the event focused on city branding, economic and cultural exchanges, and fostering people-to-people connections. Over its five editions, the exhibition welcomed participation from 104 cities and institutions across 52 countries and regions.

This year’s event was a grand gathering of international guests, bringing together over 40 representatives from foreign embassies and consulates in China, Zhejiang’s sister provinces and cities, and related associations. In addition to touring the exhibition, participants explored key sites in Yiwu, including the Yiwu International Trade Market, China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology, Xilou Village in Yiting Town (host of the 2024 International Brown Sugar Festival), and Senshan Health Town.

64 booths were set up for 25 cities or institutions to display or sell their products. The diverse offerings ranged from cosmetics and garments to healthcare products, daily necessities, food and beverages, and artwork, representing 17 countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Canada, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Madagascar, Moldova, Slovakia, South Africa, Türkiye, and Uganda. This vibrant exhibition highlighted the unique charm and distinctive features of each city, strengthened mutual understanding among friendship cities, and unlocked new opportunities for deeper collaboration.
