Launched at 9th UCLG ASPAC Congress and initiated by the Yiwu Municipal People’s Government, the UCLG ASPAC Logistics Committee primary objective is to enhance logistics interconnectivity among member cities in the Asia-Pacific region, facilitate the development of robust logistics networks, and ultimately drive common economic growth across the region.
The committee will achieve these goals by focusing on five key areas:
- Building a Platform for Cooperation: Create a platform for dialogues, exchanges, and the sharing of experiences. It will host conferences, forums, and various activities focused on logistics to facilitate pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation among members.
- Conducting Research and Policy Consultation: Conduct theoretical research and offer policy consultations on global logistics. A key part of this will be the promotion of best practices and successful case studies in urban logistics development.
- Establishing a Resource-Sharing Mechanism: Establish mutually beneficial logistics cooperation mechanism among member cities to promote the sharing of resources and ensure win-win outcomes across the region.
- Developing Special Logistics Routes: Develop dedicated logistics routes between member cities, improving accessibility and building a new pattern of connectivity within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Promoting Sustainable Urban Logistics: Actively promote the concept, technology, and application of sustainable development within urban logistics.
