UCLG ASPAC has been developing several projects of public space in Surabaya, Indonesia. The project is collaboration between UN-Habitat, UCLG ASPAC, and Surabaya Local Government. It is expected that this project will also develop in other areas. As an effort to share the information on the importance of public space, how it will help to sustain the development of urban areas and how it links to the life of citizens, UCLG ASPAC published a publication about public space, entitled: “Public Spaces in Asia Pacific – Why Local Governments Need to Act”.
