One of our joint members, Fuzhou, is going to hold the Mayors’ Summit on “Maritime Silk Road” in the 21st Century during the Cross-Straits Fair for Economy and Trade, on May 18th-22nd.The theme of the Summit is “Rebuild the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century.” The objective of this summit is to build the martime silk road economic belt and to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation among countries along the maritime silk road.
There are two subjects that will be presented during the Summit i.e. “Invest in the Silk Road Economic Belt”; and “The ‘New Silk Road’ of Maritime Economy.”The Summit will be precisely held on one day before the Fair, May 17th 2014, starting at 9am.
Among the invitees are Chinese top-government officials of the relevant ministries and commissions of the national level; economists; financial investment institutions; mayors of the cities along the maritime silk roads; mayor of sister cities; chambers of commerce and representatives from the Global Top 500 companies. All of them will be scheduled to discuss the matchmaking of industries and industrial parks, transnational trade, port and logistics, etc.
