Nansha District of Guangzhou, China, is building an international associations cluster area. The Home of Hong Kong and Macao Associations (HHKMA) is the pilot start-up area of the cluster. HHKMA is on the 5th floor, Block 4, Innovation Bay, Jiaomen River, Nansha District. The Innovation Bay is in the city centre of Nansha. It enjoys convenient transportation and living facilities. It is a comprehensive service platform integrating functions such as serving young entrepreneurs, legal services, and technological cooperation. HHKMA is a free of charge gathering area for Hong Kong, Macao and international associations, built by Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone in March 2023.

HHKMA can provide effective support services for associations that are interested in developing their fields in Nansha or the Canton Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. It provides free hardware support such as independent offices, shared workstations, multi-functional activity areas, and link to third-party service resources including policies consultant, finance, taxation, law, and recruitment, providing one-stop services for exchange and cooperation, project matching, publicity, display, and other activities for Hong Kong, Macao, and international associations. HHKMA promotes all-around cooperation between Canton, Hong Kong, Macao, and international associations in various fields with concrete actions.

Since the establishment two years ago, HHKMA has attracted 45 associations joining as members, among which there are nine associations from countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, and Fiji. To help associations to have better understanding of the development opportunities in Nansha and the Greater Bay Area, HHKMA has created a series of brand activities, for example, “GBA Matching” in business resource matching, and “Talking” salon in seminars. These activities assisted associations that have settled in HHKMA to promote a number of cross-border cooperation achievements in the fields of healthcare, youth entrepreneurship, culture, science, and technology in Nansha.
