CDIA Training Courses Calls for Applications

Our partner, the Cities Development Innitiative for Asia (CDIA), together with the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs are jointly organizing two training courses to be held in Singapore in the month of March 2014. As a few places are still available, the organizer would like to encourage further applications at this point.

A) The course on “Effective Urban Infrastructure Programming” is targeted at groups of three (3) representatives from Asian cities. It will take place from 5-14 March 2014 for the 5th time, with the full course targeted at two (2) Senior Professional Staff members (e.g.: Department Heads responsible for Planning of Engineering, etc.) and on the last two days (13-14 March 2014) for one (1) Senior Elected Official (e.g. mayor or vice mayor). It aims to cover the following topics:

  • Singapore’s experience in moving from plans to strategic investment projects.
  • Singapore’s experience in public sector reform and governance.
  • Prioritizing infrastructure investments.
  • Enhancing Project Formulation.
  • Financing Infrastructure Investments.
  • Marketing Investment Projects to Potential Financiers.

Successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Models for Infrastucture Developments Projects.

B) from 26-28 March 2014, the organizers offering the course “Cities and Climate Change”. The main objective of the course is to raise awareness about challenges and opportunities in integrating climate change issues (mitigation and adaptation) into local policies. Target group is decision makers, administration officials and consultants in the field of urban development and environment management. Nationals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific Islands are invited for this application.

The organizers will cover all primary cost for each participant (international air fare, local transport, accommodation, course fees and basic living allowance) for the duration of the training course.

Due to interactive learning format, the course are designed to accomodate only a limited number or participants.
