Biodiversity Summit for Cities and Subnational Governments 2014

In support of the 194 signatory Parties (193 countries and the European Union) of the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) in fulfilling their commitment with the Convention and, in particular, the implementation of the Aichi Targets.

The Biodiversity Summit for Cities & Subnatioanal Governments 2014 will be held in Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea, which contains a rich biodiversity. It will be in parallel with the 12th meeting of the Conference of parties to the Convention on Bilogical Diversity (CBD COP12), confirming the crucial role of cities and other local governments in enhancing global biodiveristy and seeking new systematic and effective ways to reinforce it.

The 2014 biodiversity will provide all local governments and other participants from the world, with valuable opportunities for working together toward sustainable cities, where biodiversity is their essential component.

Date: Oct. 12 (Sun)- Oct. 14 (Tue), 2014

Venue: Pyeongchang (Alpensia Convention Center)
