Gunsan City Integrated Control Centre Officially Launches: Ushering in an Era of Smart Urban Management

Gunsan City has officially opened the “Integrated Control Centre,” the core hub for building a smart city, marking the full-scale start of next-generation urban management.

The opening ceremony, held on September 24, was attended by Mayor Im June Kang of Gunsan City, along with prominent domestic and international guests and representatives from relevant organisations, all gathered to celebrate the successful launch of the centre.

The Integrated Control Centre is a unified platform based on a smart management system, providing real-time monitoring of transportation, public convenience, crime prevention, and safety. By analysing collected data, it supports efficient city operations. Through this, Gunsan City expects to offer its citizens a safer and more convenient urban environment.

In particular, the main functions and expected benefits of the Integrated Control Centre are as follows.

  1. Real-time Monitoring and Data Analysis: The centre collects a wide range of urban data in real time, such as traffic conditions, hazardous chemicals, and flood monitoring. This allows for early problem detection and efficient response.
  2. Strengthened Urban Safety Management: Real-time control and safety management of Gunsan City’s key infrastructure will allow for prompt and systematic responses in crises.
  3. Enhanced Inter-Agency Cooperation: By enabling various organisations to share information in real time, the centre establishes a faster and more efficient response system for emergencies.

Mayor Im June Kang stated, “The Integrated Control Centre is a vital piece of infrastructure for building a smart city. By integrating and analysing diverse data to enhance public safety and improve everyday convenience, we will enable swift and precise responses. We will do our utmost to create a future city that every citizen can be satisfied with.”

With the opening of the Integrated Control Centre, Gunsan City plans to realise its smart city vision through continuous technological investment and ongoing cooperation with relevant organisations.
