We’ve got a lot of spirit this year brought by the New Faces! Please let us introduce Danang Nizar (Danang), Madeleine Maccredie-Smith (Maddy), and Vidyana Putri (Vidy), three passionate interns who wished to taste the real working experience in UCLG ASPAC. Let’s see all of the great ideas and contributions they will bring to the table.
Danang, a Jakarta who had spent 4 years living in Australia to study Regional and Town Planning in the University of Queensland, is now working closely with Strategic Services Division undertaking a pleminary study to asses the potentioal of developing recycling industry in South Tangerang and Bandung. His internship journey may have just begun, yet he already has gotten a chance to present his work in front of both of the respectful cities’ high officials. This work also has allowed Danang to combine his passion in community development and environmet all into one.
Maddy, this MA candidate of International Development of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. commenced her internship in UCLG ASPAC since 20th January. Her internship was organized by ACICIS (Australian Consortuium for ‘In Country’ Indonesia Studies) – a non-governmental institution which facilitates Australian students from universities members to have an immersion study in Indonesia. Maddy was posted in Strategic Services Division with the main responbility to arrange positioning paper on UCLF ASPAC’s recommendation and proposed direction for the post-2015 Global Development Agenda. Aside from her office activity, she’s also engaged in Indonesia language and culture classes. She conluded her internship on 14th February and has returned to Melbourne to continue her study.
Vidy, our youngest fellow who’s now in her final year of study – International Relations in Airlangga University in Surabaya (Indonesia) – considered her internship in UCLG ASPAC as the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experiences to pursue her dream career with international organization. Currently, she’s working with the division of Communication and Information anf her duties including handling the UCLG ASPAC websitr, e-newsletter and produce other printed publications. Prior to her internship. she’s actively participated in many campus projects and events. Her internship period will be ended on April 21st.
