Following the Workshop on Urban Mobility and Development, Coordination Meeting of UCLG ASPAC Indonesian members was also held. The aim of coordination meeting was to update the upcoming activities as well as the progress of on-going activities of UCLG ASPAC and to gather input from members.
Members of UCLG ASPAC appreciated the effort made by Jakarta City Government and the Secretariat in organizing the coordination meeting. Secretariat of UCLG ASPAC will further follow up and schedule the coordination meeting regularly (every 3-4 months). This coordination meeting can be conducted in conjunction with other UCLG ASPAC’s activities as well as members’ activities so that more benefit can be gained.
Some suggestions were obtained during the coordination meeting including the broadening scope of work of UCLG ASPAC, managing the collection of fees to UCLG ASPAC’s members as well as the schedule of programme and improving networking especially with the media/pers. Members expected that UCLG ASPAC can focus also in the economic and education issues since both of them are crucial. These issues are in line with the priority of Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC particularly on empowering local financial ability.
For the collection of fees and programme plan of UCLG ASPAC, members requested the Secretariat to send the invoice for the next year membership fee much earlier and the annual programme plan of UCLG ASPAC in advance. Governments have a certain period of budgeting schedule therefore the invoice for the membership fees and UCLG ASPAC activities should be received during the period of budgeting. It thus will help cities to budget the fees as well as the expenses to participate in the UCLG ASPAC activities.
