31 December 2020 | Fuzhou – UCLG ASPAC 21st Century Maritime Cooperation Committee (21CMCC) launched its website http://www.21cmcc.org.cn/ to further connect and communicate, to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and sharing, and myriad values of information to members, partners, and public. The website embraces the principle “Information is Knowledge, and Knowledge is Power” which was taken as the slogan.
Attending the launch were UCLG ASPAC Secretary General, Dr. Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi; Mr. Jiang Jiang, Vice President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC); Mr. Hang Dong, Deputy Mayor of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government and Secretary General of 21st Century Maritime Cooperation Committee; Mr. Wu Xiaojie, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, Executive Deputy Secretary General of 21st Century Maritime Cooperation Committee; and other distinguished authorities of city of Fuzhou attending the ceremony on site.
Towards the positive initiative, Secretary General shared her positive view saying, “I am confident this new website can promote cooperation in marine science and technology and protection of marine ecosystems, as well as facilitate the construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.” Further, she also expressed her hope that through the newly established website, the Committee can take a more active role in providing knowledge, advice, and practical suggestions in regards to cooperation in the maritime field and at the same time enhance the scientific and technological innovation capacity without border.
The 21CMCC is one of UCLG ASPAC’s committees jointly initiated by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government. It was established after approval in April 2017 at the UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting held in Catbalogan, the Philippines.
