Gyeongju is a city with a population of about 260,000 in southeastern part of the Republic of Korea. Gyeongju is a representative city of history, tourism, and culture of the country. Gyeongju had been a millennium capital of Silla kingdom. – the first kingdom to unify the Korean peninsula – from 57 BC to AD 935. With its rich history, Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, Gyeongju Historic Areas, Yangdong Village and Oksan seowon are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. As such, numerous historical sites and relics are scattered around the city that Gyeongju is called an “Open-air Museum.” Gyeongju is one of the most beloved city by tourists from home and abroad.
