Peer-Learning Workshop on Building a Local Government Alliance for Localising New Urban Agenda (NUA) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asia and the Pacific

UCLG ASPAC, with the support from Guangzhou City and the European Union (EU), will organize and facilitate a technical workshop to mobilize international cooperation among cities, local governments, associations and specialized organizations on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the New Urban Agenda (NUA). The workshop will be attended by more than 40 representatives including mayors, academics and experts from across the Asia-Pacific region. The two-day discussion will feature the specific knowledge needed for effective localization of the global agendas as well as the key challenges and practical guidance to achieve concrete outcomes at the local level. Innovative initiatives and good practices from various cities, including those shortlisted for the Guangzhou Award this year, will also be showcased and could present further opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
