From March 17 to 21, UCLG ASPAC Secretariat office had a special visitor from Canada, Laurent Mougeout, CEO of the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) – a member of FCM (Federation of Canadian Municipalities). He assisted UCLG ASPAC in its efforts to strengthen the operations of the Secretariat by giving a short training course, focusing on database development and management to staff.
In UCLG ASPAC’s effort to expand networking, the Secretariat is always very excited to have opportunities to share knowledge with various sources. UCLG staff were involved in an engaging sharing session related to development issues and cooperation with local governments.
During the lunch break, the Secretariat invited him to enjoy a city tour with the newly launched Jakarta bus, called Mpok Siti. The Hop On/Off Bus Tours were inaugurated by the Governor of Jakarta – who is also the Co-President UCLG ASPAC, Joko Widodo in January 2014. The bus tours take you to the city centre attractions, like the governmental heritage building, business centers, shopping malls and the education and culinary districts.
